Wintec Chosen by Eye-Fi for Manufacturing World’s First Wi-Fi Memory Card for Digital Cameras
Milpitas, California, Oct. 30, 2007
Wintec Industries, Inc. a leading ODM/OEM supplier located in Silicon Valley announced that its manufacturing facility has been chosen by Eye-Fi, Inc. to manufacture the world’s first wireless memory card for digital cameras. The wireless memory card launched by Eye-Fi on Oct 30, 2007 capitalizes on Wi-Fi technology, providing camera users an effortless way to remove virtually all obstacles for instant photo sharing. The device will revolutionize the way Wi-Fi is enabled in digital cameras.

As Wi-Fi becomes more prevalent in homes, Wi-Fi connectivity is becoming increasingly important as a feature for consumer products. By integrating the Wi-Fi function into a flash memory card in a standard SD form factor, the Eye-Fi Card brings wireless connectivity to the digital camera and also operates as a conventional SD memory card. The Wi-Fi connectivity provides an ultra-convenient way for camera users to send photographs directly to home computers and online photo or social networking sites for instant sharing or printing.

“It is a great pleasure to work with the world class innovators at Eye-Fi. It has been a real challenge to integrate the wireless function into an SD card, where traditionally its compact form factor has offered only enough space to support a flash controller chip and flash memory. Together, we have resolved the obstacles, achieved a robust but standard mechanical design, and delivered superior wireless performance”, said K.C. Chen, CTO at Wintec Industries, Inc.

"Eye-Fi needed a manufacturing partner that was willing to take on a creative challenge, and Wintec helped us push the limits" said Eugene Feinberg, co-founder and hardware architect for Eye-Fi. "Their expertise in circuit board design, assembly, and mechanical design made it possible for us to create the world's first wireless memory card for digital cameras."

Wintec Debuts Intel Validated DDR3 Memory for Bearlake Chipset
INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM, Beijing, April 17-18, 2007
Wintec Industries released working samples of Intel validated DDR3 modules compatible with the new Intel Bearlake desktop chipset family for desktops. Wintec debuted its 512MB and 1GB DDR3-1066MHz modules at the 2007 Spring Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in Beijing, China in April.

A memory manufacturer, worldwide memory supplier, and Master Intel Distributor, Wintec works directly with Intel to test and certify memory. As the requirements for hardware and software support and the demand for higher bandwidth increase, so too will the need for DDR3 memory. Wintec welcomes Intel’s announcement to add support for DDR3, and looks forward to providing memory solutions for the newest platforms. Wintec’s Intel validated DDR3 modules are currently available in limited quantities and undergoing tests on newly released motherboards with the Bearlake chipset. DDR3 production will ramp up as motherboard support increases.

DDR3 offers several enhanced low power features compared to DDR2. The 90nm technology results in up to a 25% reduction in power consumption and the lower operating currents and voltage, 15.V vs. 1.8V, require less cooling, prolonging the battery life of notebook computers. In addition, DDR3 increases the performance of multimedia applications

Inquirer BOM article using Wintec Memory
Buenos Aires, Argentina-March 1, 2007
According to the latest news from Fernando Cassia at www.theinquirer.net, Do-it-Yourselfers can benefit from affordability and performance when building Dual Multi-Core capable AMD Opteron CPU based systems using 2GB or (4x512MB) Registered ECC DDR2 CL5 memory, made by Wintec Industries. Cassia states, “The system will be the new reviews test bed at the Inquirer’s Latin American Headquarters.” He further added, “Built with a single dual core CPU, the configuration leaves plenty of room for expansion and yet still remains at an attractive price.” To see the complete article, click here

Tom's Hardware AMPO AMPX
From Tom’s Hardware Guide- February 21, 2007

Thomas Sonderstrom’s review of value-priced DDR2-800 kits, which appeared in Tom’s Hardware Guide, states that Wintec’s AMPO part number 3AMD2800-2G2K-R is “the good stuff”. It exceeded a 1000MHz data rate at only 2.10 volts. Sondstrom acknowledged that the dual channel module with standard-voltage SPD values for DDR2-800 mode that some boards simply require using at the high speed and the 800 MHz data rate at 5-5-5-15 latencies, and SPD that also supports a 533 MHz data rate at 4-4-4-11, and a 400 MHz data rate at 3-3-3-8, is compatible with DDR2 platforms both old and new. “Web prices of around $215”, he adds “seem reasonable”. In the performance results, Wintec’s AMPO surpassed expectations and was one of four out of the ten kits tested that offered the highest value.
