Step 1 Click the ConvergenceOne Software Link on this page.
Step 2 Click Save File.
Step 3 Double-click the file: ConvergenceOne_Setup in your downloads folder.
Step 4 A security warning will appear. Click run anyway, to run the Microsoft Installer.
Step 5 Select the folder you want to install ConvergenceOne in, and select who you
             want to have access to the software.
Step 6 Click next. When installation completes, you may run ConvergenceOne and
             follow the steps to configure the software.
Step 7 Begin using ConvergenceOne to transfer pictures, music, and video between
             your PC and FileMate Identity Tablet.

I purchased my FileMate Light/Identity from a trading site and understand these products are retired and no longer available through authorized retail outlets. What can I do if I have any problems?
The original manufacturer's warranty for the FileMate Identity tablet ended on January 15, 2013. The FileMate Identity tablet as well as the FileMate Light tablet are EOL, End of Life. These product are no longer supported except through self-service knowledge which is still posted on our website. General issues with the versions of the Android Operating System installed on the original products can still be found by searching the www for resources and end user forums. However, we no longer have the facility to process RMA requests for these products. Please visit our FAQ page for more information.
My tablet freezes. I've tried a factory reset. What can I do to address this behavior?
We have determined that the most likely fix for this issue is a firmware update.

  1. Please download the firmware update here --Posted 8/27/2012.
  2. Save the file named "e201firmware.img" (158 MB) to the desktop of your computer or laptop (remember where you saved it since you will need to locate it later). In order to now transfer the file to the SD card, your computer/laptop may be equipped with a flash card reader. If not, you will need to purchase this accessory unit prior to completing the next step.
  3. (NOTE: An SD card with sufficient free space – 170MB - is needed for this next step) Insert an SD card into your tablet. Connect the tablet to your desktop/laptop computer. Copy the file; "e201firmware.img" (158 MB) from your computer to the SD card previously mounted in the tablet. (You may already have purchased and mounted an SD card on your tablet. This SD card can be used to accomplish the firmware update download as long as it has enough free space as mentioned above. It is not necessary to purchase another SD card just to complete any firmware update if you already have one mounted with sufficient free space available)
  4. Once you've completed the download of the firmware file, safely dismount your SD card from your computer by Right clicking on it and choosing, 'eject', following the instruction sequence. Then remove the SD card from your computer/laptop/reader. The following steps will take you through the actual mounting of the SD card on your tablet and the firmware update action.
  5. Open the flap at the top of your FileMate Identity Tablet and insert the SD card properly/correctly. NOTE: The SD card only goes in one way! Failure to insert the SD card properly will cause damage to your FileMate Identity tablet and your SD card.
  6. Tap on the Application's Icon
  7. Tap on Settings
  8. Tap on Privacy
  9. Tap on Terminal Initialization
  10. Agree to the Terminal Initialization
  11. The Tablet will reboot. It will take more time than usual. Please be patient as it reboots.
  12. To verify that the firmware upgrade has taken place, please do the following:
    Tap on Applications Icon > Settings > About System > Firmware Version
 
How Do I transfer my pictures and videos to my desktop/laptop?
Before you begin, you will need use the micro-USB to USB cable that came with your tablet so you can establish a connection between your tablet and a desktop/laptop. Connect your tablet to your computer using the USB cable ( Wait for the connection to be completed. When connected, your computer will automatically detect your tablet. ) A USB connected message will display on your tablet. Tap 'Turn on USB Storage' Wait for confirmation on the tablet screen to read, "USB storage in use" Please adhere to warning, 'Before turning off USB storage, make sure you have unmounted ("ejected") your Android's SD Card from your computer. If this is not done, it can cause data loss, and corrupt your SD card. Locate the newly created driver letter on your computer. You can now transfer pictures, videos, and files from your tablet to your desktop/laptop. When your are done transferring media, tap 'Turn off USB Storage" and eject the drive from your computer/laptop. Carefully, disconnect the USB cable from the computer/desktop and from the tablet.
 
How do I remove an Icon from the Home Screen?
The icons on the home screens are shortcuts. Shortcuts start a feature or application. To remove a shortcut, touch and hold the shortcut, and drag it to now visible Garbage Can icon and place the shortcut in the Garbage Can. This action does not delete from the applications screen. In order to uninstall an application, tap ‘Task Manager’ from the home screen. Tap ‘Application’  then choose from the populated list below an application you would like to uninstall. Tap ‘Uninstall’, and then the next screen is a confirmation screen, tap ‘OK’ and  then again once the tablet has completed the uninstall.
 
How do I use the GPS Service on this tablet?
Use Google Navigation to get turn-by-turn driving directions both spoken and displayed on your screen. Tap the 'Home' key then 'Settings' , then 'Location & Security', then select 'Use GPS satellites.' Tap the 'Home' key then 'Navigation' ( there will be a wait period necessary while you are being located). Your location, when found, is displayed at the bottom of the screen. These services are dependant on a Wi-Fi signal in order to start the location services. Once a Wi-Fi signal is available, select 'Navigation' from the app screen and wait while the tablet reports your location. The service will plan out the route for your destination. Once you leave your Wi-Fi location the turn-by-turn navigation will continue, and will re-route if you do not follow the directions. Note: Using the Navigation application will use your battery more quickly. Remember to adhere to safe driving practices while using this tablet.?
 
Can I do video chat with this tablet?
No, this tablet has a rear-facing camera which does not allow the user to fully enable a video chat. There are however plenty of apps available to download from the Android Marketplace for video chatting and chatting.
