| Unfortunately, FAT can only support up to 2GB for removable devices. Anything exceeding 2GB must be formatted in FAT32 mode. |

| Drive partitioning involves programming the drive so that when inserted into a USB drive socket, the computer system sees it as being separate, independent drives. For example, partitioning into 2 drives evenly on a 512MB drive will result in the computer system into which the drive is inserted seeing 2 independent 256MB disk drives. |
